Both braces and Invisalign provide exceptional results for tooth alignment and aesthetics. Many patients with more challenging dental issues have often thought or been told that Invisalign treatment would not be an option for them. However, Dr Piller is a Specialist Orthodontist and an Invisalign Platinum Provider with more than a decade of experience, making it possible for him to use this discreet technology in many cases.

Invisalign may increase treatment time and cost, however, many of our older teens are willing to accept this due to the aesthetic nature and convenience that aligners provide.

Every patient presents with their own biological gifts and will be given a treatment duration estimate at their initial consultation appointment. Using the latest in diagnostic and educational tools, including digital imaging, interactive media and other resources, Dr Ben Piller will go over all aspects of your treatment.

As a general guideline, fixed appliance therapy (braces) typically requires 18-24 months of treatment. A complex case requiring extensive tooth movement including extractions, missing or impacted teeth can take up to 24-30 months. 

Clear aligner therapy (Invisalign) can range anywhere from 6-30 months and depends on the complexity of treatment, which will be discussed at your initial consultation.

Advanced digital imaging makes it possible to illustrate what to expect throughout your treatment, as your teeth move and your facial appearance improves, and to visualise the outcome.

Once Dr Piller has approved your treatment plan, he will provide the first series of aligners. We typically recommend that you wear each set of aligners for 7-14 days before graduating to the next in the series. Dr Piller will arrange orthodontic review appointments, scheduled at specific intervals, during your treatment to monitor changes and make any necessary amendments to your treatment plan.

Post-Orthodontic Treatment Retention

Immediately after orthodontic treatment has completed, the teeth are vulnerable to movement. Dr Ben Piller invested in the 3D iTero Scanner, which has replaced traditional impressions (moulds). The scanner uses advanced photographic technology in the mouth, providing a 3D image of the teeth and bite within minutes. This scanner integrates with Invisalign software, giving Dr Piller immediate access to begin the process of treating your teeth digitally. 

Traditional impressions are still required, but far less frequently than before.
